Marilyn Oyler is the founding partner and owner of Partners in Participation, LLC . Marilyn has over 30 years of experience in organizational development, community development, training design and delivery with expertise in participatory approaches to strategic planning, innovation, large-scale change, coaching and mentoring, public participation and collaboration. She is an experienced mentor trainer and ICA Certified ToP facilitator. Marilyn’s projects have included strategic planning and implementation, training of facilitators, and community development in the US and for 15 years in Europe, Africa and Asia. Prior to the establishment of her consulting practice, Marilyn was a member of the staff of the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) for over 35 years. In this role she coordinated the collaborative development of the nationally recognized Technology of Participation (ToP®) course Series. Marilyn has trained more than 5000 people in the ToP and has facilitated strategic planning for more than 150 corporations, nonprofit organizations, professional associations and government agencies using highly participatory ToP methods. She is co-author of chapters on ToP in both editions of the Change Handbook published by Jossey Bass in 2004 and 2007. Marilyn’s current work includes mentoring ToP Trainers and ToP Certification candidates while continuing the administrative functions for Partners in Participation. She is also available for supporting trainers and facilitators in designing facilitation opportunities. Marilyn holds an MA in Human Resource Development from Ottawa University and a BS in Mathematics from St. Cloud State University. She is a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators, the AZ Association of Facilitators and the Technology of Participation Network.
